Formal recognition of the household as a foundation of religious life within Hákonarætt Fellowship.
Religious life within Hákonarætt begins in the household. A Hús is a household recognized by Hákonarætt Fellowship as intentionally maintaining, or seeking to maintain, the Old Norse religious tradition within its household life.
A Hús may consist of one person or multiple persons sharing a genuine household or family life. Other household members are not required to become Members of Hákonarætt Fellowship.
Recognition of a Hús is voluntary and is available to adult Members of Hákonarætt Fellowship in good standing.

Recognition does not create the Hús or grant permission to practice the Old Norse religious tradition. It is Hákonarætt Fellowship's formal acknowledgment of the household and its place within the religious life of the Fellowship.
A recognized Hús remains a household. Recognition does not make the Hús a Kindred or congregation and does not confer Gothi status, religious authority, or civil authority.
A Hús is not required to establish a dedicated Hearth or develop into a Kindred. It may remain a recognized Hús indefinitely.
Húsbóndi and Húsfreyja are traditional Old Norse household designations, roughly "householder" and "lady of the house," associated with responsibility and stewardship within the Hús. Where applicable, one or both designations may be recognized in connection with a recognized Hús.
These are household designations rather than offices of Hákonarætt Fellowship or Gothi titles. They do not confer religious authority over other Members, Hús, Hearths, or Kindreds.
A recognized Hús may choose to establish a Hearth by intentionally setting apart and dedicating a suitable sacred place for the religious life of the household.
Establishing a Hearth is optional. Recognition of a Hús does not require a dedicated Hearth, and a Hús does not become a Kindred simply because others are welcomed into its religious life and hospitality.
Recognize the Hús. Dedicate the Hearth. Charter the Kindred.
Adult Members of Hákonarætt Fellowship in good standing may request recognition of their household as a Hús. Recognition requests are reviewed by Hákonarætt Fellowship. Not yet a Member? Apply for membership first.
